Gen Art Contest

Final week to enter!
This is the last week to enter your design for a shot at
$10,000 and a New York show!
Gen Art is holding a design competition based on the versatility and usability of plastic-based fibers in fashion, presented by Plastics Make it PossibleSM.

What will you design for New York Fashion Week with $10,000?
One winner will receive a $10,000 stipend to create their own 10-piece Fall 2010 collection using the list of approved fabrics to be showcased at Gen Art’s New York Fashion Week show in February. Click here for a full list of materials. Click here for a list of the rules.

Sound like a stretch?
Chances are, you’re already using these materials in your designs. So many of the things we wear, design and covet every day are made from plastics including Jersey, Chiffon and Dupioni, not to mention Lycra®, faux fur, velvet, Mesh and dozens more. You should enter now
Entering is free and easy:

Submit two photos of two full womenswear looks primarily made from one or more of these plastic-based fabrics until December 1st. Don’t wait until the last minute—you need the Discover community to rate and review your entry in order to be a contender! So get your designs in today to make sure you are eligible to win.

There is no entry fee, and you can submit pieces from your current collection if they are made of approved materials! See the full list of fibers here.

How the winners are chosen:
Online voting resulting from the discover.genart.org community will determine 10 finalists in the competition. One winner will be selected by Gen Art, a committee of fashion industry professionals and representatives of Plastics Make it PossibleSM. Join the community now

Good luck!
