With a pop-rock score that features stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers, Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida is a modern crowd-pleaser that embraces a multi-cultural story and exuberant dancing and singing.
We have fashion students in Diane’s costume design class who are working on aspects of the show and two of your students, Joany Hernandez and Heidi Hyde, who are sewing costumes for the show. Students are encouraged to attend. Students/seniors are $12 per ticket; and the group rate is $9 per ticket with a group of 6 or more (talk to Fashion Faculty for group rate).
“Linking Cultures, Enriching Lives” Photo Contest!

All FCS professionals and students are invited to enter the “Linking Cultures, Enriching Lives” Conference Photo Contest. You could win a free AAFCS 102nd Annual Conference & Expo Full Registration (first prize) or Pacesetter Dinner Ticket (second and third prize)!
How to Participate:
Take a photo (or find a photo you have taken) that really gets to the heart of the conference theme, “Linking Cultures, Enriching Lives.”

Voting will take place from April 4 – 10. Be sure to vote for your photo and encourage others to do so as well. Each person can vote for a photo once per day.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Project Ethos returns to LA Fashion Week on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 at 8pm at the Avalon, 1735 Vine St. Los Angeles, CA 90028 with a creatively charged event featuring a signature lineup of top emerging fashion designers, musicians and artists.
The Carpe Diem (seize the day) theme resonates with each participant in the event who is choosing to take the next step in their career by participating in the red carpet event, showcasing their work to thousands of attendees. An energized crowd of consumers, media, buyers all there in hopes to discover the next big thing.
The night will begin with a thrilling live performance by the eclectic and soulful indie rock band Robotanists who will debut songs from their new record “Plans In Progress”. Shortly after, the runway show will commence featuring Melissa Velia (Chula Couture), Reneta Jhunjhnuwala (Reneta J), Kristi Moon (Age of Aquarius), Dominique Ansari (Dominique Ansari), Ermelinda Manos (Ermelinda Manos), Cardiwrap By Kymaro and Frederick’s of Hollywood Swimwear who are officially launching their new swim line at Project Ethos events across the country.
