Below are the classes that begin next week! Please note that Draping is typically only offered in the Spring Semester during the daytime. For Summer, it will be offered for the first time on Saturdays! With the AIMS class, this counts towards your certificate. If you are going on the NYC trip, Lisa Elston will make sure you can still take the course. Computer Applications in Fashion will not be offered in the Fall so now is your chance to take it! AIMS training runs for $400 a course in Los Angeles, but you can get the same training here at Saddleback College - What a deal! Wearable Art still has spots open as well.

FASH 204 - UNDERSTANDING APPAREL PRINCIPLES-AIMS CERTIFICATION

Learn about the business applications of the apparel industry using order processing and manufacturing software. Course will cover distribution, manufacturing & wholesaling using AIMS (Apparel Information Management System), an integrated order production and inventory control processing system. Students passing final exam will earn AIMS Cert. Units: 1
Material Fee: $10

FASH 124 - WEARABLE ART

Covers construction and embellishment of clothing incorporating such techniques as ribbon embroidery, beading, smocking, shadow embroidery, trapunto, pintucks, scallops, applique, hemstitching, embroidery styles and stitches, tassels, lace and other heirloom techniques. Units: 3
Material Fee: $15

FASH 132 - DRAPING FASHION DESIGNS

AIMS CERTIFICATION CLASS NOW BEING TAUGHT IN ORANGE COUNTY AT SADDLEBACK COLLEGE

Class starts May 25th and runs till June 10th 2010. Class is every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6-9:50pm

Fashion Camp OC


SPRING SESSION

Friday, April 23 – Saturday, April 24, 2010

Friday: 6 – 9pm; Saturday: 9:30am – 4pm

Fee: $150

Registration Now Open!

Spring Session is a mini version of the full-length camp. Campers will experience a full schedule of activities including a design project, several guest speakers from the field, and will go home with a t-shirt, style inspiration board and tons of memories. Lunch will be provided on Saturday of Camp.

SUMMER SESSION

Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 17, 2010

9:30am – 4pm Daily

Fee: $500

Registration Begins April 26th

Summer Session is a week-long, in-depth look at the fashion industry. Days will be spent meeting industry professionals, touring retail locations, showrooms and offices, participating in styling excercises, working on design projects, and learning about all of the different avenues the industry has available. Campers will go away with a notebook, text book, t-shirt, style inspiration board, 2 design projects and various prizes that will be awarded throughout the week. Lunch will be provided on Wednesday and Breakfast on Friday.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • All camps will be held on Orange Coast College Campus.
  • Registration for camp is facilitated through Orange Coast College’s Community Education Program. You do NOT need to enroll at OCC to sign up. The Community Ed Program is open to the public. Simply follow the link below (under “Sign Up”) and register. Fashion Camp OC will confirm your registration via email shortly thereafter.
  • Transportation for field trips will be provided
  • Campers should dress fashionably, and respectfully as we will be visiting businesses and retail establishments.
  • On days when lunch is not provided, lunch provisions will be made available.
  • Detailed location information and other pertinent details will be provided to each camper via email upon receiving registration form.
