GenerateHope presents "Girl, Interrupted

GenerateHope presents Girl, Interrupted an inspiring event in the battle against human trafficking for victims of recovery. So mark your calendars for August 13th! Prepare to come with open minds, eyes, ears and hungry stomachs for an evening swarming with great entertainment, music, art and food. Girl, Interrupted will take place right in downtown San Diego in the scenic artsy district of East Village from 8-11 PM. Headlining the event will be the talented The Silent Comedy performing an acoustic set. Featured artists, such as Danielle Berg and Karla Burner, will be showcasing their unique art work. Benefactors include Stone Brewing Co., Sprinkles Cupcakes, Cohn Restaurant Group, Quality Social, and Rockstar Limos.

With a impressive lineup of musicians, artists and sponsors, this is an event you don‘t want to miss!



All proceeds will be donated to GenerateHope to help the process of restoration and renovation for a safe house for sexually exploited and trafficked victims particularly in San Diego.

FIDM's "Little Black Dress" Exhibit

The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise (FIDM) is inviting the public to a free exhibit on the fiftieth anniversary of the debut of Audrey Hepburn's iconic little black dress in the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany's. The LBDs on display will invite visitors to explore the role and re-invention of this wardrobe staple throughout fashion, films, and pop culture. Running through August 13th, 10am to 3pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Rapidly growing company, is seeking an experienced pattern maker/seamstress to be a part of our creative design team! This Individual will be hands on and work closely with the designer, from making samples of new designs to creating quality outfits for our high end clientele. We are looking for someone with a passion to sew and create, and the ability to sew first pattern all the way to production. You need to be familiar with working with knits and have a love for children's and women's fashion. This person will be creating patterns for our wholesale line as well custom outfits for special events and occasions. This person needs the ability to work quickly and proficiently to meet deadlines while not sacrificing quality and consistency. We are looking for someone with the right attitude and character that will be able to work hard, have fun and grow along with us and our flourishing company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Attention to detail
Knowledge in dressmaking
Ability to drape first pattern
Experience in markers and grading
Knowledge in single needle, overlock, crosstitch and blind hem
Accurate and precise cutting and measuring of materials
Knowledge in Mac, Photoshop, Illustrator a plus

Designer – ELEMENT MEN'S ACCESSORIES

Job Description:

Duties to include, but not limited to the following:
Design multiple categories in men's Accessories Line.
Work closely with Design Director and graphics department.
Develop new shapes, novelty fabrics, styling details, trims, artwork, etc…
Follow direction, perform market research, and develop creative, innovative, leading designs: sketches, multiple colorways, etc…

Key Requirements:
*Minimum 3 years experience in design with a minimum of 1 year experience in accessory design specifically.
*Creative and detail oriented.
*Highly motivated team player.
*Excellent time management skills to meet frequent deadlines.
*Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
*Pro-active with a solution/result oriented attitude.
*Must be MAC computer proficient in Applications - Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, Excel, Outlook
*Solid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes relating to packs, bags and accessories
